What is it?A four-week outdoor program of fitness instruction, nutritional coaching & motivational training, provided by local AFAA certified Personal Trainer/Aerobic Instructor & NESTA certified Adventure Boot Camp Instructor/Sports Injury Specialist/EZ8 Running Trainer and POSE TECH certified POSE Running Coach, Misty Ballard. Bluewater Boot Camp's trainer is AFAA certified Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor, certified Aquatics Instructor & NESTA certified Adventure Boot Camp Instructor, Nora Clements. Where are the locations the boot camps?Misty Ballard instructs the 5:30 to 6:30 AM Monday - Friday boot camp on the beach, behind THE CRAB TRAP, in Destin & starting in June (for the summer months), Destin Boot Camp will just be 3 days a week, Mon / Wed / Fri, still @ 5:30 - 6:30 AM. Nora Clements instructs the Bluewater Boot Camp @ Seminole Park (just 1/2 a mile from the Whitepoint/Hwy 20 intersection), on Mon / Wed / Fri from 9:15 to 10:15 AM through the first week of June. After the first week of June, the June, July & August boot camps will be at the same Bluewater location, but moved to an earlier time, so that it's not too hot! The new time will be from 6:30 - 7:30 AM, still on Mon / Wed / Fri @ Seminole Park. What if I'm not very physically fit?NOBODY will be left behind or asked to complete more than they are capable of doing safely. Nor will anybody go home unchallenged! All ages and abilities are welcome to participate. Each day will slightly increase in intensity. You will inspire and be inspired by others. What types of exercises are included in the program?Exercises include: core conditioning, functional training, short distance running, muscular strength, plyometrics, speed and agility training, jumping rope, circuit training, obstacle courses, PAR course, Pilate mat exercises, surprises and more! This technique was developed by fitness expert John Spencer Ellis. Camps are held outdoors. Directions will be given at your first assessment. On select days, campers may travel a short distance away from the "base camp" for a fun day. You will receive your schedule prior to camp. You can also check this site for any calendar changes. What if I'm not sure how many days I will be able to attend? When each session ends, I always give 3 make up days, so if you purchase a 5 or 3 days a week session & you have to miss 3 days, you will be able to make up those days during the BONUS days at the end of the session. When the next session begins, you must enroll again, unless you choose the VIP. Before, I found that when I offered the BONUS days, mostly the people who hadn't missed any days at all were the ones who showed up for the BONUS days. It mostly comes down to commitment. Usually the people who weren't truly committed, didn't even bother to show up to the BONUS days. Then I had people skipping weeks at a time and then showing back up over a month later to finish their days. The system is just like it is if you are paying for a personal trainer at a gym, when you purchase a session, when you're not there, you lose that day, except this is better because I also give you 3 extra BONUS opportunities to make them up, so make sure you choose a plan that's best for your schedule. Some people will be better off just paying by the day. However, if you choose the VIP option, you may use your days however you choose. You are also saving so much money by enrolling VIP & that is the perk of being VIP, save money & choose your days. I know that things come up and life happens, that's why a full session gives you 3 days to miss miss, and they can be made up by the end of the 3 BONUS days or they are lost, so choose which enrollment package is best for you. If the boot camps run back to back without make up days in between, your 3 days that you are allowed to make up will have to be made up within the first week of the following boot camp. So, to help accommodate those that may travel a lot & are never sure just how many days they can be there during a session, I have added a Package Deal, which is basically buying you a certain # of days, that gives you the same flexibility as the VIP, where you can choose your days. VIP is cheaper per day, but the Package Deal allows you to buy in smaller portions & still choose your days.
How often will we meet? For the 5:30 AM boot camp, participants will meet every Monday through Friday for one hour during the four-week program. The 9:15 AM boot camps in Destin & Bluewater (RainTree) will meet every Monday, Wednesday & Friday for one hour during the four-week program. All participants must arrive on time. Class will start on time each day, although we do understand that things happen, so if you are running late, don't make that a reason not to show up that day, b/c no matter how late you will be that day, every minute you are at boot camp is that much closer you will be to reaching your personal goals. What is the weather for my camp?Get your personal boot camp weather update, with our live beach weather cam NOW! When does the next camp start?See our annual calendar. What do I need to bring? An exercise mat, small hand weights (3, 5 & 8 lbs.), water bottle, small sweat towel, good shoes, and a sense of adventure. You can purchase hand weights at any Wal-Mart, Target or Sporting Goods Store, and running shoes at any place that sells good running shoes. Guys, please bring 15 lbs or heavier weights for biceps. Guys will also need a set of 10, 8 & 5 lbs. SHOES are so important to you staying injury free! Please have a good pair of CROSS TRAINER shoes that you wear to boot camp each day. Regular "road" running shoes are only made for forward motion & not for side to side motions or running on uneven sand or trails. You wouldn't wear a pair of "road" running shoes to an aerobic class, just as you wouldn't wear them to boot camp. So, CROSS TRINERS to boot camp, but also please have a good pair of regular "road" running shoes that are in your car when you come to boot camp, b/c you never know when you just might need them, too. If you go to the Silver Sand Outlet mall, way back in the right hand corner is Rack Room Shoes, which has some good, low cost New Balance Cross Trainers. They also carry asics & some other brands, all with great prices. What can I expect from camp?Your body will become more fit and toned, and you will gain more confidence and self-esteem! You will also meet people with the same fitness goals, abilities & challenges as yourself. You will be challenged as you reach for & achieve your goals. Why should I participate? You will make a dramatic improvement in your physical and mental well-being. In addition, you'll meet great people who share your same passion for acquiring a more healthy body and mind. You will be finished with your training before the rest of the world has even gotten started, and, you'll be several hundred calories ahead! The camp program includes exercises designed to firm your butt and thighs, flatten your stomach, reduce body fat and increase stamina. By losing fat and gaining muscle, you'll lose inches and gain strength while looking and feeling better. What is the cost (investment in myself)? Each Destin 5:30 AM, 5 days a week, four-week boot camp has a registration fee of $299 for 20 hours of instruction! That's just $14.95 per hour. Where else can you get premiere or cutting edge fitness instruction for that incredible price? By registering, you will also receive your FREE Boot Camp T-shirt. That price is also not including the FREE bonus days you will receive during the break. Also, NO GYM MEMBERSHIP CONTRACTS OR GYM FEES. Most gyms require for you to also pay a membership fee, while you're also paying personal training fees, but you can pay for just the boot camp you choose to go through, because your gym will now be the beautiful outdoors, and believe me, there's no gym needed here! Can I pay by check? Yes, CHECKS MUST BE MADE PAYABLE TO OUR LLC: Living Well Destin. Other Options: You can also choose to come 3 days per week for a discount of $100, total cost is just $199. All Bluewater Boot Camps use this option for a full boot camp. We also provide the pay-by-day option for either $25 per day or $90 per week. This option does not include the free boot camp shirt and you MUST still fill out all registration forms (online) prior to your first boot camp class and from then on you can just enroll online as a returning boot camper without filling out the waiver and medical release, unless your info has changed.
